In 1977, a cider house was built on the same property as the packing house. There, the Barnwell’s make fresh pressed apple cider, pasteurized apple cider, and apple cider vinegar.
Throughout the years, Gladys and Odell continued to expand their orchards. They went from a small, 15 acre apple orchard to various orchards of over 100 acres. The vegetable production has also increased, with a large variety of veggies grown each year. The Barnwell’s now have an additional 10 acres of peach orchards.
Over the years, Gladys and Odell’s children and grandchildren have all helped out with running the farm. When Odell passed away in 2000, his sons took over the management. Gladys passed away in 2017 and her son Wayne and his wife Janet now oversee all aspects of the farm.
Those that work with them also help keep the farm thriving and beautiful!
